The Street Medicine Institute is pleased to announce a call for host cities for the 22nd annual International Street Medicine Symposium!

The 22nd annual symposium will be held in September or October of 2026.

The symposium is typically held on a Thursday through Saturday morning with a pre-symposium workshop on Wednesday. The hosting organization will have an opportunity to present lectures, panels, and/or workshops highlighting the host city’s work to improve the health and wellbeing of individuals sleeping rough/unsheltered.

The cost of the symposium is shared between the Street Medicine Institute and the host city.

Examples of the host city organization's responsibilities:
  • planning the Host City Day presentations, panels, and workshops; 
  • advertising for local attendees;
  • arranging location and refreshments for an evening networking event; and
  • securing food, venue space, and other necessary equipment for the symposium with guidance from the Street Medicine Institute. 

Examples of The Street Medicine Institute’s responsibilities:

  • designing the content of the symposium;
  • international advertising;
  • symposium registration;
  • coordinating with non-local presenters; and
  • assisting the host city with their responsibilities.
